Thank goodness, there are numerous weekly publications dedicated to telling the truth. One of them The Jewish Voiceencourages all AFSI members to write letters to the editor on BDS, the current election, terrorism in Europe, anti-Semitism, Israel's issues, and all topics of interest. Geert Wilders Sounds The Alarm

Helen Freedman,
AFSI Executive Director
with Geert Wilders, Leader,
Dutch Freedom Party

AFSI's Helen Freedman, Judy Freedman Kadish, Ruth King, and Charlie Bernhaut attended a Gatestone Institute event on Tuesday evening, July 26 at a private function. Geert Wilders, head of Holland's Freedom Party, was the guest speaker. People may remember his film FITNA, exposing the Islamic reign of terror brought on by quotes from the Koran. Wilders was put on trial for making the film, but was acquitted. He is now on trial again in the Netherlands and in Austria for hate speech, and has been on a death list for over a decade.

This courageous Dutchman's message is that Europe is collapsing - surrendering to the results of an open door policy without the demands of assimilation. Islam, which means submission, incorporates sharia law. Wilders explained that Islam comes to dominate, NOT to integrate. He declared that WAR has been declared in Europe, but the leaders are all Chamberlains. He spoke about France, Germany, England, and Sweden where honor killings, genital mutilation, rapes, and rampant terror are everyday occurrences. He believes the populace is ready to identify the threat, but NOT the leaders. Instead of a First Amendment guaranteeing free speech, there are hate speech laws; Islamic lawfare is used against anyone who speaks out against Islam. However, Wilders declares that we must NEVER BE SILENT, that free speech is the breath of democracy.

Wilders seemed to echo the American popular message when he declared that the people are tired of the ruling elite. They want the borders closed, criminals expelled, and detention for suspected terrorists. They want to regain their national sovereignty. The political correctness that has infected America is rampant in Europe and Wilders calls it the biggest disease. If his party succeeds in the next election, his goal will be to make it unattractive for Moslems to live in Europe - whether they be from Syria, Morocco, or Africa. He concluded with the statement that Bat Ye'or's prediction about Europe becoming Eurabia has come true, but he must remain hopeful for the future. If the people prevail over the corrupt leadership, Europe will survive.

To send tax deductible donations, made out to the Gatestone Institute, marked for Geert Wilder's Legal Defense Fund, the address is: Gatestone Institute, Suite 1001, 14 E. 60 St., New York, NY 10022

This Political Correctness is Killing Us

Why, oh why, Pope Francis must you engage in false political correctness?

One of your very own - 86-year-old priest Jacques Hamel - had his throat slit and head cut off by Islamic terrorists in northern France, and you make the following statement:

"...But it's a real war, not a religious war. It's a war of interests, a war for money. A war for natural resources and for the dominion of the peoples. Some might say it's a religious war. Every religion wants peace."

NYT
The New York Times Never Ceases to Amaze

CAMERA's huge ad opposite
the NY Times building in Manhattan

As much as we have detested the reporting on Israel in the New York Times for years, it never ceases to amaze that when we think it cannot sink any lower, it does!

Today's Algemeiner contains an article by Stephen Flatow, whose daughter was murdered by Palestinian Arab terrorists in 1995. If anyone knows about biased and slanted reporting in the New York Times, it is Stephen Flatow.

In his article, Flatow writes about a report in the Times about a recent law passed in the Knesset, enabling Knesset members to remove Parliamentary immunity from one of their own, but based on strict criteria and rules.

As Flatow puts it,
But if you read the account by New York Times correspondent Isabel Kershner, you wouldn't know anything about the terrorist or his victim - all you would learn is that Israel's rulers are suppressing dissent and might be infected by "budding fascism."

It's as if Kershner and her editors are living in some kind of alternative universe, in which Israel is always guilty, Arab extremists are always innocent, and the 141 Americans who have been murdered by Palestinian terrorists simply don't exist.

Yes, in almost all cases concerning Israel, the New York Times is the prosecutor, judge and jury, finding Israel guilty even when the facts betray their verdict.

Yes, it is an uphill battle, fighting media bias that never seems to end. However, thanks to people like Stephen Flatow and the numerous media watchdog organizations that monitor reporting on Israel, we have a fighting chance to ensure the record is set straight.

Boys
The Two Year Commemoration of the Three Boys,
Gilad, Eyal and Naftali at Oz v'Gaon

Recently, an emotional and exciting event was held at the Oz v'Gaon Nature Preserve on the hill above Gush Etzion Junction, marking two years since the founding of the preserve that was established in the memory of the three abducted and murdered Israeli youths, Eyal Yifrach, Gilad Shaar and Naftali Fraenkel.

The event, Growing together at Oz v'Gaon", was held in the presence of the family members of the three youths as well as the head of the Gush Etzion Council, Davidi Perl.

The event was conducted by Women in Green, which is behind the establishment of the preserve, its renovation, upkeep and adaptation as a site for education, tourism and camping. It was opened by Yehudit Katsover, one of the heads of the movement, with the story of how the decision was made to go up to the preserve on the very night in which the bodies of the abducted youths were found and the dream to see this place bustling with life. Katsover remarked that this is the way of Zionism - development and growth out of pain, but she added that "it could also be otherwise; we could and should cut off the enemy's hope by applying Israeli sovereignty".

"Without the backing of the people, the parents, the council, the IDF and the various other bodies this would not have succeeded, and this is why we came to say 'Thank you'", said Nadia Matar, Katsover's partner in leading the movement, who also listed the activists and donors who contributed to the event.

AFSI is proud to have played a part in the establishment of the park. Through donations from AFSI members, the construction and beautification of the walkway entrance to Oz v'Gaon was made possible.

See the AFSI Way sign at the 3:53 mark of the video.
