Chaveirim....
We are happy to announce the next Brooklyn AFSI meeting taking place iyh BeShaah Tova UMutzlachat on Thurs. Aug. 13th at 7pm.
Place: Ticker Residence 1552 E. 35th Street
Just so you should know, we have a friendly dog Chloe.
We are so proud of Rivky Weinberg, the first member of AFSI Brooklyn to make Aliya iyh scheduled to leave with Nefesh B'Nefesh on August 17th BeShaah Tova Umutzlachat!. Once again we want Rivky to know that we are there for her and she should not hesitate to call upon us whenever she needs any help... now before she leaves and when she is in Israel! We want our group to be a support system for her even long distance! We will hopefully all learn from her mistakes :) when we follow in her footsteps G-d willing. She is our Nachshon ben Aminadav, our trailblazer!... This Brooklyn Afsi meeting will double as a Tzeischem LEShalom party for Rivky. All of Rivky's friends are invited! Please let us know what you wish to bring to the party...besides yourself we will be happy to accept Kosher Pareve food contributions....Don't be shy. Let us know what you are bringing.... Please RSVP if you can....
At this meeting we will iyh report on the Stop IRAN initiatives being organized by the group that organized the rally in Times Square.
A Rabbi's protest in front of Schumer's office is apparently in the works... Anyone who wishes to help lobby Rabbi's to join this protest please drop me an email and let me know. Very important!!!
Anyone that wishes to hand out fliers with information why the Iran deal is so dangerous, in front of shuls or simply to place in shuls, please let me know by dropping me an email. We are looking for volunteers! I'm pretty sure we will have a supply of fliers. If not, we'll make our own copies and look for sponsors to cover the cost of the fliers. Many Chareidim showed up in Times Square on July 22nd at the STOP Iran Rally, and I can't help but think that the efforts of Michael Chenkin, from AFSI Central and members of our group in Brooklyn AFSI really paid off. It definitely put the dangers of Obama's Iran deal in the consciousness of our Community.
fyi Please take the time to read AFSI Central, newsletter sent today. http://shemittahrediscovered.blogspot.com/2015/08/fwd-its-not-just-getting-hot-its-boiling.html.
Some of us, Lori Fein, Robin Ticker, Binyamin Magden, Yosef Alon, Shlomo Davidson, Steven Levine from Brooklyn went to the Jabotinsky Memorial. It was a terrific program! We can attest that the love of Israel and the spirit of Jabotinsky permeated the room. (if I left your name off the list please forgive me. I am sure others from Brooklyn were there as well. I am happy to be corrected)
If you are not on AFSI's email list, then please email Americans for a Safe Israel <judy@afsi.org> and tell Judy you are an activist from Afsi Brooklyn and ask her to be put on Afsi's official mailing list in Manhattan. In the meanwhile I will be forwarding a link to their newsletter to our group. There was a glitch in their system and I wasn't receiving their emails which I very much missed. But now they are coming once again..... ken Yirbu (so they shall mpy)...
