ACTION ALERT!

Wednesday, Oct. 18, 5:00-8:00 PM

JOIN AFSI, JCCWATCH.ORG, OTHER ORGANIZATIONS, JEWISH LEADERS AND CONCERNED INDIVIDUALS TO PROTEST THE HIRING OF DAVID MYERS AS HEAD OF THE
CENTER FOR JEWISH HISTORY (CJH)

Americans for a Safe Israel/AFSI and JCCWatch.org have announced plans for demonstrations to be held at the Center for Jewish History on Wednesday, September 27, 6:00-7:30 PM and Wednesday, October 18, 5:00-8:00 PM, to protest the hiring of David Myers as President and CEO of the CJH. It is located at 15 West 16th Street between 5th & 6th Avenues, NYC.

Helen Freedman and Judy Freedman Kadish, Co-Executive Directors of AFSI, ask, "How was David Myers, former Professor at UCLA, selected to be President and CEO of such a prestigious institution as the Center for Jewish History? How does someone clearly aligned with Peace Now, the New Israel Fund, J Street, and BDS sympathizers, qualify for a position where five estimable institutions will be guided by his anti-Israel stance? Can a man who talks about the 'deep wound of the Naqba' and 'Israel's role in the dispossession of Palestinians' properly teach the history of the Jewish people? As a member of If Not Now, Myers called for a 'stop to the occupation of the West Bank.' How is it possible for someone who doesn't understand Israel's entitlement to its biblical promised land to be placed in a position of control over the Center for Jewish History?"

Richard Allen, founder and leader of JCCWatch.org, has called for "full disclosure as to who was behind the selection of David Myers as President and CEO of CJH." He states, "Hiring a clear foe of Israel and someone who distorts Jewish history, does the Jewish community a terrible disservice. Myers must be fired. There is no room in American Jewish leadership for anyone who supports a boycott of Israel."

"We plan a series of protests, along with an advertising campaign to demand the public firing of Mr. Myers as President and CEO of The Center for Jewish History. Anyone who sits in a position of leadership for the New Israel Fund, J Street and If Not Now, is not a fit candidate for any position of Jewish leadership. The Jewish community will not remain silent with Jewish leaders who harm Israel."

The Zionist Organization of America has published an in-depth analysis of Meyers positions on Israel, including his affiliations and involvements with anti-Israel organizations. They conclude that David Myers should not head the the Center for Jewish History ("CJH"), and should be removed from this post.
ZOA: Hostile-to-Israel Propagandist David Myers Should Not Lead Center for Jewish History

Join us Wednesday, September 27, 6:00-7:30 PM, and Wednesday, October 18, 5:00-8:00 PM, to demonstrate at the Center for Jewish History.

All those who are properly incensed by this betrayal of Jewish interests are invited to participate! Bring flags and signs. Most importantly, alert your family, friends, and neighbors.

Can We Count On You to Come? ACTION ALERT: PROTEST Wednesday Sep 27 6-7:30pm 15 W 16th Street. CALL TO FIRE CEO of CENTER FOR JEWISH HISTORY BDS and Anti-Semitic Terror at the Center for Jewish History | Frontpage Mag

Bsd

Protest At Center For Jewish History To Demand Firing Of Israel Boycotting CEO David Myers.

Americans for a Safe Israel/AFSI and JCC Watch will hold a demonstration at the Center for Jewish History Wednesday SEPTEMBER 27 to protest the hiring of David Myers as President and CEO of the CJH. The Center for Jewish History is located at 15 West 16th Street between 5th & 6th Avenues, NYC. The demonstration will take place from 6-7:30 PM. All those who are properly incensed by this betrayal of Jewish interests are invited to participate. Bring flags and signs.

Another demonstration is scheduled for October 18th.

This is a Chillul Hashem. Chillul comes from the Hebrew word for חלל void.

How did Jewish Orgs get hijacked? This happens when there is a void and Jews fail to  assert the Biblical Covenant  between G-d and our forefathers and the Jewish Nation.

This should be  a wakeup call to Major Jewish Orgs, Rabbis and Jewish Leadership. If we fail to claim G-d's precious gift to us the Jewish Nation others will steal and pervert our identity.

www.frontpagemag.com/fpm/267941/bds-and-anti-semitic-terror-center-jewish-history-daniel-greenfield ...David N. Myers did not end up in his position by accident. The defenses of his anti-Israel activism contend that we should ignore his political views because they have nothing to do with his position. But it's because of these views that he got the job and because of them that he will keep the job. Myers' appointment was not the beginning of a problem at the Center for Jewish History. It's just the most obvious symptom of a serious ongoing anti-Jewish crisis in Jewish Studies.

Fwd: The Lives of 183 teenage boys in your hands. Emergency Campaign for Waterbury Yeshiva an AMAZING YESHIVA!

bs"d

This emergency ad campaign is quite amazing but it is hard to capture and do justice to the spirit and beauty of Waterbury Yeshiva...

In Waterbury Yeshiva the students exemplify what Teshuva is all about.

Waterbury Yeshiva is a role model par excellence of  what Ahavas Yisroel means.

These short youtube clips capture a glimpse of the spirit of Waterbury:

Even when I walk in the valley of darkness, I will fear no evil for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff-they comfort me.

Rachel Imeinu must be getting lots of Nachas from Waterbury Yeshiva!

When I think of Waterbury Yeshiva I think of this passage said in Shacharit following the passage of the Akeida.

At the climax of Yom Kippur, during Ne'ilah we cry out to Hashem: פתח
לנו שער בעת נעילת שער.

"Here is one Yeshiva whose door is open to all, Yet today our doors can't open for 183 mesivta boys who have no other doors to enter. Please open their doors and be of assistance to them and their Families.

The Waterbury Mesivta under the auspices of Rabbi Daniel Kalish develops boys into true Bnei Torah and Aliya that sadly no other Yeshiva would even consider working with. Many Rabbonim and Jewish Leaders will personally attest to that.
The Mesivta was recently relocated to a new sprawling campus in Durham, CT. The State will allow the boys to return only upon the completion of the unfinished kitchen and dining facility as well as refurbishing the dormitory.

Fwd: From Zvi Gluck Amudim on Harvey Relief and preparing for Irma. When It Rains It Pours

Dear Robin

Between Harvey and Irma, it has just been one of those weeks.

The pictures out of Texas and now, out of the Caribbean, have been hard to believe, but even more amazing is the generosity of acheinu b'nei yisroel, who have gone all out to help those whose lives have been turned upside down by Hurricane Harvey.

For those of us in the New York area, Hurricane Sandy is still fresh in our minds, and even five years later, there are still some who are struggling with the devastation that the super storm left behind. In addition to the many individuals who are aiding Harvey victims, numerous organizations rushed to step in and offer their help, among them Achiezer, Agudath Israel of America, Chabad, the OU, the RCA and UJA.

Amudim is honored to have been asked to join forces with the OU, Achiezer, Seasons and Evergreen, which set up numerous drop off points throughout the New York area where people could drop off much needed supplies. Using our experience in disaster relief and logistics, we were able to coordinate the efforts of this massive project, which sent a caravan of eight tractor trailers to Houston and to oversee the efforts of the more than 200 volunteers from the Jewish communities in and around New York who left their homes, businesses and families behind to help those in need.

At this point in time, a lot of the cleanup and demolition work has been done in Houston's Jewish communities, but after soggy carpets have been ripped up and ruined furniture dragged out to the curb, there is still so much left that needs to be done. Amudim's on-site representatives are currently shifting their efforts so that the people of Houston will be prepared to take the next step in the recovery efforts, managing on their own and dealing with the long term issues that have yet to be resolved after the volunteers return home

Unbelievably enough, as all of this is going on in Texas, we have also been busy working with several agencies including Hatzolah Miami, Chesed Shel Emes, Florida law enforcement and federal agencies to create the framework for emergency services and disaster relief should Irma unleash her wrath on Florida.  We are davening for a positive outcome in Florida and hope that none of these services will be needed; but as we all know, an ounce of preparation is worth a pound of cure.
And here is an actual breakdown of new cases we opened this past week:
