Fox News Interview:  What will change with Mr. Trump coming in the White House..

Fox News: Governor, good to see you...
Governor, The Prime minister seemed especially warm and welcoming to Mr. Trump. Some would say if's a bit of a contrast to recent years.

Huckabee: Well I'm guessing that in the Prime Minister's office there is a calendar and every day that gets closer to January 20th, an X goes on that date looking forward to that relationship... Because the Obama Administration has been hostile to Israel, HOSTILE...It's not just that they've been indifferent...They've spent more time condemning Israel for building bedrooms in Judea and Samaria than they have condemning Iran for attempting to build bombs.  This is outrageous! and they have constantly harangued Israel who has been our best friend in the Middle East, the most stabilizing force in the Middle East, and it's an irrational position that the Obama Administration has taken.  So I am sure that not only the Prime Minister, but citizens around Israel are celebrating that the very end of this hostile regime of Barack Obama is coming to an end.

Fox News: Some might say that the settlement they are building are threatening the peace process

Mike Huckabee:  I'll tell you what threatens the peace process.. It is the Palestinians who are never being held accountable for continuing to push in their educational school systems the celebration of terrorism to celebrate the murder of Jews.  We will never have  peace in the Middle East so long as there is an unwillingness by the Palestinians to acknowledge the right of Israel to exist.  And the so called Settlements... these are neighborhoods and communities...  These are well established communities on Land that frankly Israel has every legal and moral right to claim. Judea and Samaria are part of the historic land of the Jews.  I'm not Jewish but I have been to Israel so many times that I've lost count going back to 1973.  What the Israeli's have done in building a remarkable nation is nothing short of miraculous, economically, medically, politically, it is a bright spot in otherwise a dark part of the world.

Bolton
Huckabee: "Israel Celebrating End of Hostile Obama Regime"

With each passing day many Israelis are slowly breathing more easily.  The past eight years have been the most difficult in the history of US/Israel relations in the history of the State.  While past administrations may not have cooperated easily, may not have offered up assistance unasked, none seemed committed to abandoning Israel completely...until the now outgoing administration.

As former US Ambassador Michael Oren exposed the difference, "From the moment he entered office, Mr. Obama promoted an agenda of championing the Palestinian cause and achieving a nuclear accord with Iran. Such policies would have put him at odds with any Israeli leader. But Mr. Obama posed an even more fundamental challenge by abandoning the two core principles of Israel's alliance with America."

Former Governor Mike Huckabee commenting on Prime Minister Netanyahu's expression of optimism on "60 Minutes" on Sunday, voices his shared hopefullness that the next administration will be a true friend to Israel, dismissing the idea that Israel is an obstacle to peace in the Middle East.

Moving US Embassy to Jerusalem a Priority For New Administration

Moving the U.S. Embassy in Israel to Jerusalem will be a major focus for Donald Trump according to senior aide Kellyanne Conway.

Conway made this statement to conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt yesterday on his Monday morning show. "He (Trump) made it very clear during the campaign, Hugh, and as president-elect I've heard him repeat it several times privately, if not publicly."

This post-election statement makes us hopeful that this time the move is more than a campaign promise!

AFSI Co-Directors Helen Freedman, Judy Kadish and supporters including Charlie Bernhaut were in attendance at John Bolton's press conference at the Isaiah Wall opposite the UN yesterday. Other leaders from the pro-Israel American Jewish community who were present included Mort Klein of the ZOA, Dr. Joseph Frager, Duvi Honig and members of the Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce's Public Policy Committee, which arranged the news conference. Aaron Klein, noted author, radio host and Breitbart News Jerusalem Bureau Chief, traveled in from Israel to address the conference as well.

As Helen noted, the crowd was standing in the cold with the United Nations in the background on First Avenue at 43rd Street. Ambassador John Bolton remarked that as former UN Ambassador to the United States, he often felt that Israel was left out in the cold, and that was much more severe than the climate temperatures the crowd was experiencing.

As reported in Arutz Sheva:
Dr. Frager pointed out that approximately 20% of the UN budget is covered by the United States, and our nation therefore has leverage to keep UN anti-Semitism and anti-Israel sentiment in check. "The PA can't use the UN instead of negotiating," he explained.

He was followed by Aaron Klein of Breitbart who detailed the various potential UN resolutions that may be pushed in the upcoming weeks. They include, among others, unilateral declaration of Palestinian statehood, a timetable for statehood declaration, or a declaration that Israeli settlements are illegal. "This is almost a sick joke...a diplomatic assault," said Mr. Klein, detailing the Palestinians' repeated refusal to accept a state at the negotiating table.

Ambassador Bolton was the final speaker of the conference, utilizing his impeccable diplomatic pedigree to sound the alarm about the "very far reaching repercussions" that would result from a US abandonment of Israel at the UN. He pointed to the bipartisan US consensus for nearly half a century that a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict cannot be imposed by other countries. "It is a fiction that a resolution across First Avenue will lead to lasting peace," he said.
