Fwd: AFSI Newsletter: Jan 3, 2017. The US/Israel Business Alliance Mission To Israel With Governor Mike Huckabee!

Bsd

Afsi's Executive Director Helen Freedman  and co-Executive Director Judy Kadish Freedman accompanied OJC the Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce trip headlining Former Governor Mike Huckabee! (Mikek Huckabee was nicknamed Maccabee by Dr. Paul Brody and the name caught on in the Knesset for good reason!)

This was Mike Huckabee's 5th trip to Israel with Dr. Joseph Frager, Dr. Paul Brody and Odeleya Jacobs who joined forces with Duvi Honig this time to organize this event!

What an amazing group of activists for Judea and Samaria!  AFSI Leaders Helen Freedman and Judy Kadish Freedman participated, a supplement Chizuk mission for AFSI for Judea and Samaria!

In the Knesset the contingent received a warm welcome and deep expression of gratitude and mutual admiration!  Yasher Koach to the Organizers and to all the participants!

Tune in at 1:20 minutes to live recording to hear Mike Huckabee's speech.

The US/Israel Business Alliance Mission To Israel With Governor Mike Huckabee Begins!

The US/Israel Business Alliance mission to Israel with Governor Mike Huckabee, sponsored by the Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce, began yesterday evening. Their first stop was walking through the Kotel Plaza and feeling the importance of being in that historic place at this historic moment in history. They then went to a restaurant in the Old City of Yerushalayim, actually carved out of the stones of the city. Governor Huckabee spoke about how natural it is for people who have owned the land of Israel for 4000 years to be in their home. As AFSI's Helen Freedman and Judy Kadish commented, their being there was a total repudiation of the absurdity of the UNSCO resolution 2334 and the unspeakable arrogance and ignorance of John Kerry.

Today, Governor Huckabee and the mission visited the city of Ma'ale Adumim. There, he made numerous statements, calling the recently passed anti-Israel UN resolution "an act of hatred and contempt." He also said that the US should allow Israel to build in Judea and Samaria, and that Arabs have always refused 2-state solution.

Here are several photos of the mission so far.

Cautious
Good News and Cautious Optimism

The following article in the Washington Free Beacon is good news as we count down the days to the end of the Obama administration. Perhaps sanity will finally have its moment in the sun!

Excerpts:
A delegation of Republican senators is moving forward with an effort to freeze some funding to the State Department until the U.S. embassy in Israel is formally moved to Jerusalem, according to new legislation.

The legislation comes as the Obama administration continues to face criticism over its behind-the-scenes effort to forward a United Nations resolution condemning Israel.
The Obama administration, like previous administrations, does not formally recognize Jerusalem as Israel's capital city and has worked to stymie efforts to move the U.S. embassy there.

While Congress first approved legislation to move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem in 1995, the new bill threatens to cut State Department funding until the relocation is complete.

The effort is being spearheaded by Sens. Ted Cruz (R., Texas), Marco Rubio (R., Fla.), and Dean Heller (R., Nev.), all of whom support efforts by the incoming Trump administration to move the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem after years of debate.
