Action Alert: Contact Your Senators!
Tell Them To Confirm David Friedman
As U.S. Ambassador To Israel

This Thursday, March 9, the Senate Foreign Relations Committee will vote on the confirmation of David Friedman as the next U.S. ambassador to Israel. Assuming he is approved, the full Senate will then vote on the nomination, either later that day or soon after.

It is critical that we contact our Senators and request they support David Friedman as the next U.S. ambassador to Israel. He is eminently qualified, a supporter of growing the bilateral U.S.-Israel relationship, a true friend of Israel, and a long-time supporter of Jewish and Israeli causes.

There is a concerted effort to deny Friedman the nomination. Anti-Israel leftist organizations, including Jewish organizations, are actively working against his nomination.

Just yesterday, San Francisco Senator Dianne Feinstein, came out against his nomination. Senator Minority Leader Charles Schumer of New York has yet to state his position on Friedman.

We are also dismayed that both AIPAC and the ADL have so far remained silent and have not come out publicly in favor of Friedman's confirmation. Both organizations represent a broad spectrum of American Jewry, and it is imperative that they get behind President Trump's nominee for ambassador to Israel.

Contact your Senators here:

Here is a list of those organizations that have so far endorsed David Friedman's nomination:
- AFSI: Americans For a Safe Israel
- American Friends of International Young Israel Movement
- COPMA: Citizens Opposed to Propaganda Masquerading as Art
- Coalition for Jewish Values
- COPIA: Coalition of Pro-Israel Advocates
- Coordinating Council for the Jewish Homeland
- EMET: Endowment for Middle East Truth
- Iron Dome Alliance
- Israel Independence Fund
- Jewish Political Education Foundation
- Jews Choose Trump
- National Council of Young IsraeI
- NORPAC
- OJC: Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce
- Orthodox Union
- RZA: Religious Zionists of America
- Republican Jewish Coalition
- Republicans Overseas - Israel
- Save the West
- Sephardic Community Federation
- World Jewish Congress
- World Values Network
- Zionist Organization of America

In addition, both the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations and the Jewish Federations of North America have issued positive, supportive statements about David.

The following organizations are opposing his nomination:
- Ameinu
- Americans for Peace Now
- Jewish Voice for Peace
- JStreet
- National Council of Jewish Women
- Partners for Progressive Israel
- Truah
- Union for Reform Judaism

CONTACT YOUR SENATORS.
LET'S MAKE SURE DAVID FRIEDMAN GETS CONFIRMED!

Mordechai Kedar: Embassy Move to Jerusalem
is a Move Toward Peace

Screenshot of Mordechai Kedar, in one of his many interviews on Al Jazeera
(available on YouTube)

In the course of an enlightening evening with Middle East expert Mordechai Kedar at the Chabad of the Upper East Side of Manhattan, guests were treated to an insider's view of Trump, Israel, Putin and the Middle East. Kedar, who served for twenty-five years in IDF Military Intelligence where he specialized in the Islamic world and Arab culture, spoke on critical issues in the Middle East today, and their impact on the U.S., Russia and Israel.

Kedar made the case for moving the U.S. embassy (as well as the others) to Jerusalem, as a move toward continued peace since it strengthens Israel. The recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel signifies world recognition of the eternal Jewish claim to its history, independence, and rights as a nation-state in its indigenous homeland. This acceptance and recognition would serve to strengthen it in the world, and the stronger it is, the more likely it will be free from attack.

Putting the "superpowers" actions and influence on the Middle East in perspective, Kedar posed that Russian leader Vladimir Putin has taken control of the Middle East in the last three years through its proxies, Iran and Syria. Although Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and some of the other primarily Sunni nations have not been overtaken by Russia, they all are quite wary of the designs of its proxy, Shiite Iran. (Keep in mind, this Sunni-Shia enmity dates to 632 ACE, and a fight over the rightful successor to Mohammed. Past differences are not forgiven or forgotten in the Middle East.)

Israel has escaped Putin's hold because Iran considers it invincible (which in the Middle Eastern way of thinking is the only reason to make peace with an enemy), due to its military might and its strong ties to allies throughout the world.

View A Powerful Video Of AFSI Chizuk Missions

Reservations are now closed for AFSI's historic May 2017 Chizuk Mission. However, AFSI will be returning to Israel in November during Parshat Chaye Sarah. Plan ahead and mark your calendars now!

AFSI Chizuk Missions are unique. Participants in an AFSI mission return to their homes informed, educated, enlightened and invigorated, ready to advocate for Yisrael Shleyma, a "full" Israel.

Among other destinations, AFSI missions visit Judea and Samaria, from the large cities to the small hilltop communities; from the most modern factories in the industrial zones of Ariel to the ancient stones of Hebron and the communities of Ofra and Amona.

A key differentiator separating AFSI Chizuk Missions from other trips is the personal touch. For more than 20 years, AFSI has taken groups to Israel, and over the years, AFSI returns to provide chizuk. AFSI travelers build relationships and become lifetime friends with Israelis on the front lines, wherever they may be. From those protecting Jewish life in southern Tel Aviv from thousands of illegal squatters, to heroes living in eastern Jerusalem among a hostile Arab population, AFSI is there.
