An Appeal for Waterbury Yeshiva, Honoring Rabbi Daniel Kalish from the Tickers

Bs"d

Dear Friends and Family, amv"sh

My emails are usually related to Israel... and indirectly it does as Rachel Imeinu is crying for her children to return....

Here in America there is a an unpolished gem that people are slowly noticing that has raised the bar in the Jewish religious experience especially among our teenagers. This diamond, albeit, not fully polished,  is beginning to illuminate brightly and people are beginning to notice... and I am talking about the Yeshiva in Waterbury,CT Ateres Shmuel.

We don't know how much exposure you have had to the Mesivta of Waterbury.

But if you've had any chance to notice what Ateres Shmuel, Mesivta of Waterbury's accomplished you'll have asked yourself, or someone else, this: "What is that place's secret?"

How do they take scores of miserable kids who've vexed the gamut of the typical Yeshiva Jewish Educational system, and turn them, into happy, enthusiastic people, and for a large part, enthusiastic and excited about Judaism and observing Torah and Mitzvoth?

It's reached the point where any Rebbe, teacher, working at Waterbury is hard pressed not to be tired of being asked this question.

Well here is a sample of what the Menahel, the Principal,  Rabbi Kalish does. For one thing, he literally melts the words of the Sages, off the page,  and brings it live into real life.

and realize his audience...

We think you should listen... and answer the question for yourself.

You can find over 500  lectures by Rabbi Kalish as well as others, on the website  http://www.shasilluminated.org/other-shiurim/

Rabbi Kalish is being honored at the Yeshiva's dinner Monday night June 6th 2016. It would mean a lot to us if you would help support the yeshiva.

We have visited the Yeshiva in Waterbury and have witnessed how the upbeat and positive spirit has infiltrated the entire place.  That spirit has even spilled over into Brooklyn as the kids' spirit and energy are contagious.

Let me just give you an example.

Rabbi Moshe Yaroslawitz is Waterbury's fundraiser.
Rabbi Yaroslawitz paid us a visit as he was doing to others who were part of the parent body.

What impressed me from this home visit was that Rabbi Yaroslawitz was so much more than a fundraiser. Just to provide context let me explain.

When a kid has been out of Yeshiva and out of the loop for a while, there is much emotional baggage from years of basically being off the radar.

This was the first time in the last 4 years that we got a home visit or even a call from someone who cared about our son from the broader Yeshiva Educational Network System.

Before the visit with Rabbi Yaroslawitz we made it clear that there was no big money coming from the Tickers and Rabbi Yaroslawitz said it didn't matter. He wanted to go through with the visit in any case... and he was simply an amazing caring and listening ear.

PS. Chloe (our dog) slobbered all over his lap and Rabbi Yaroslawitz was really cool about it.

So please put in a donation in honor of Rabbi Daniel Kalish, or Rabbi Moshe Yaroslawitz or the Tickers.   Send the link to anyone who you think would like to support the Yeshiva.

Love,
The Tickers
PPS: As is obvious from this letter, we have tremendous appreciation for what the Yeshiva of Waterbury has accomplished and want them to succeed.
