The UN - UNbelievable

An oldie but goodie

Today, the UN General Assembly voted on thirteen resolutions - 10 against Israel and three against the rest of the world combined. As of this writing, nine of the 10 have been passed. These votes come right after the UNESCO resolutions denying any connection between Jews and Jerusalem, including the Temple Mount and the Western Wall.

We have great praise for Israel's UN Ambassador Danny Danon, who has quietly opened up channels of communication between Israel and several Arab and Muslim states. However, the embedded and automatic anti-Israelism in the UN appears to be as strong as ever.

Israel may be able to ignore the non-binding UNESCO and just-passed GA resolutions, but within the next two months, the UN Security Council may vote on an anti-Israel resolution brought forth by the Arab nations at the behest of the "Palestinian" Arabs. This resolution would be considered binding, and there is concern that the US may not veto it. Lately, Netanyahu has been reminding the Americans of their decades-long support for UN resolutions requiring a negotiated settlement between Israel and the Arabs, not one that would call for the conflict to be internationalized and forced on the parties.

AFSI is a sponsor of the anti-UNESCO rally this Thursday at 12:30 PM in front of the Israeli Consulate in NYC (see below). The stakes keep rising - Israel needs our support. Please show up!

Stand with Israel: Reject UNESCO Resolutions
Attend Rally Nov. 10!

UNESCO's resolution denying Israel's connection to the Temple Mount and the Western Wall is an abomination and must be fought.

Our good friend and Director of the International Legal Forum based in Israel gives a fine explanation of the context of UNESCO's decisions and why they cannot be ignored. The interview from minute 4:35 on deals with the UNESCO situation. The entire interview, of course is worthy viewing.

AFSI is a co-sponsor of this Thursday's rally in support of
Judaism's connection to our holiest sites.

Please plan to be there!
